Well, I’m still at the sorting routine and religating things to
Maggie and Jane (my daughters) as I go. I probably will move late
in March. I just got back from a trip to Santa Barbara and checking
out the progress on the cabinetry going up in the garage there while
I clean out the garage down here! I just sent all my music sheets
to a conductor/arranger friend (Tom Shell). My early Chopin and
Bach and Boogie and 40’s and 50’s sheet music. He’s going to have
fun sorting it all out. I haven’t played the piano since the age
span of seven to fifteen. I doubt I will ever get back to it at
this point. Too many hours entailed to get in shape!
I am surprised at how many scripts I have saved through the years!
I will, of course, save those. Some day maybe I’ll make copies.
Meanwhile they go into a file cabinet.
So, here we are with Valentine’s day coming up once more. Valentine’s
Day 2000! I just read recently, “no one is perfect, unless we’re
in love with them.” I guess that’s where cupid comes in, hmmm? Although
“falling in love” is really a wonderful experience, the flutter
and the flurry (I’ve been there!) of being breathlessly caught off
balance, REAL LOVE outdistances that frenzy, and there is no comparison.
The power of commited devotion moves one to the very soul of one’s
being and brings great joy and purpose to life. When that experience
enters the hearts of a couple all things are surmountable. I see
it in my daughter Jane’s marriage to her husband, Rob. It is so
beautiful to witness their mutual kindness and patience. I wish
I had been able to accomplish that fulfillment. However, Love takes
many forms, and wherever we may be on our Path, we can practice
Its patience and kindness. We can listen for inspiration and accept
Love’s healing power and hopefully pass it on with a kind word or
a helping hand. I am so fond of Emmet Fox’s summation on love:
LOVE
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
No disease that enough love will not heal; No door that enough love
will not open; No gulf that enough love will not bridge; No wall
that enough love will not throw down; No sin that enough love will
not redeem.
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble,
How hopeless the outlook, How muddled the tangle, How great the
mistake; A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most
powerful being in the world.

I was going to tell you about the picture in my millennium calendar
for March of me with Leo the lion, and how he ended up nuzzling
my ear, but I will save it for next month’s letter. My webmaster
(Debbie) and I are planning to pop in a chapter for you to read
from “Voices From Home” soon as well. I have a few plans for the
site, but I’m also distracted by a lot going on in my life at the
moment. So, all in good time. I do enjoy sharing with you.
If you don’t have a special Valentine person in your life at this
time, find someone to hug anyway. It will brighten his/her day,
as well as your own.
Go Well,
