Hi Dear Friends:
I’m absolutely overwhelmed by all the cards, good
wishes and packages. Yesterday, my friend, Sandi and I went to the
PO Box and were in shock! I don’t’ know when I’ll catch up with
individual thanks! So to all right now, a huge thanks for your warm
showing of concern and affection.
I’m fortunate to have a great team of doctors on
my side. From the very beginning, my oncologist, GP and surgeon
put a plan in place that has been carefully followed. After many
sessions of chemotherapy, the tumor shrank enough for my excellent
surgeon. And, he was able to remove the upper lobe of my right lung
during a successful surgery. Thank God.
It has not been easy as you can imagine, and there
is much for me to get used to, including the still swollen scar
from the large incision and the husky voice from the tube down my
throat. Lots of aftermath itsies, I won’t go into. Enough!
I have to start chemo again in a couple of weeks.
After that, normalcy once more I hope! (whatever normal is?).
I don’t know how I could have made it through without
the help of Sandi, who was by my side through it all. She is a remarkable
woman. She leaves next week for another assignment, and I will miss
her greatly.
Jane and Brian will be here for Thanksgiving, and
Maggie will pop up now and then from Anaheim where she has just
started with the Disney Resort. I’m so happy for her!
So to all, my Deepest Thanks and Best Wishes for
the Holidays.
Warmly . . .
